Voices for Haiti Earthquake Relief

Next week, a two-member team will be going to Haiti with the intention of assessing the humanitarian crisis and determine how VFH can best contribute to the recovery efforts. The delegation will be responsible for determining the areas of greatest need and how VFH can respond quickly and effectively to pressing human needs through coordination with local agencies and reconstruction efforts in Haiti.
We will liaise with other NGOs, donors and the government to ascertain how VFH might best meet the pressing needs while working closely with VFH’s local representative in Haiti in order to promote an impactful relief and reconstruction programs.
VHF staff coordinators will submiting daily assessments of the humanitarian aid situation, and compiling a database of current stakeholders which will be posted on this website.
Welcome to Voices For Haiti
Voices for Haiti has partnered with other organizations and institutions to provide free housing, and educational and medical services to thousands of needy children. We seek to, primarily, educate the children and their families; however, we are very cognizant that education cannot be complete unless the child is fed, clothed and housed.
VFH has allied itself with partners such as Habitat for Humanity to provide volunteers and funds for construction of new homes. In partnership with ADRA Haiti, we assist in feeding children and families. Every child who enters our school is fed one meal a day. Twice a year our physicians and nurses travel to Haiti to provide free medical care and medicines to our children and their families. In addition, we run free medical clinics for the surrounding communities and churches. Though we no longer run an orphanage, we support many orphanages throughout the Island. Mending Lives
 Last year alone, VFH provided a free education to over one hundred and fifty children. In addition, (send them to the page) these children received one free meal every school day. Also, at the beginning of the school and with the help of our partners, we provided each child with two sets of uniforms for the school year. As soon as funds become available, a dormitory will be constructed for the children who are orphans. In the near future, VFH�s medical team plan to build a medical clinic in every Habitat for Humanity community in Haiti. Read more
Missionary Activities
 Voices for Haiti embarked on a two-week humanitarian trip to the Island nation of Haiti. The purpose of this trip was to provide aide to Haiti where 80% of the population lives in abject poverty and on non-substantial farming (CIA World Fact Book 2006). Read more
New Homes for Needy Families
 Habitat for Humanity International and Voices for Haiti, have joined hands to build 150 affordable houses in Cabaret and Gonaives Haiti for needy families. This project will last for the next three years. Read more.
